Trail markers
On foot - You will be marking the off road trails with flags, arrows and other means by foot for several Km . Familiarity with the trail is an assist but not necessary.
By vehicle - marking the range roads and atv and other vehicle accessible trail with flags
Aid Station Coordinator - Depending on the aid station and shift some duties may vary. You will have many jobs; making sure that your supplies are picked up and delivered to the station, setting up and take down, know emergency procedures, Communicating with trail and other aid stations, ensuring Attendants know how to do their jobs and fill in where needed. (recording the times the runners come in, ensuring runners are ok, helping them if needed, manning the “fuel table”. )
Aid Station Attendant - Depending on the aid station and shift some duties may vary. You will be working under the instruction of the Aid Station Coordinator.
You will be setting and cleaning up the station, recording the times the runners come in, ensuring runners are ok, helping them if needed, manning the “fuel table”. Report any issues or concerns to the aid station coordinator and communicate with trail monitors.
Trail monitoring - You will be working with search and rescue to pre-sweep, monitor runners and pick up after the last runner. May include sitting on trails in areas where direction changes or trail complications.
Trailer unloaders - Bring your muscles, you will be unloading the trailer and sorting into appropriate areas and plies. (May require a trip for propane fills)
Aid station pick up coordinator - You will have to be at reunion station a few times though you the weekend depending on when the aid station coordinator will be in to pick up their supplies. You will ensure that they get everything they need.
Drop bag coordinator -You will be helping solo runners who do not have support crews to ensure that their drop bags will get to the correct transition stations.
Aid station tent set up - You will need a Truck. Pick up our large outfitter tent and head out to Happy hill and set it up after the race, take it down and return it.
Supply pick up/Returns - We will send you around town to pick up items from our sponsors to bring back to us. Some of these items need a vehicle that can tow (lights from Northern source). After the event some of these items need to be returned as well as some other items.
Aid Station food prep - You will be working in the kitchen at reunion station to prep the food for the aid station. This will include cutting and bagging fruit, making sandwiches, and helping make soup.
Any Set Up - Any job that says set up you will be helping set up that area of the event.
Runner package pick up - Greeting and handing out the packages to the registered runners. You will also be explaining the timing chips, race bibs and other things in their package.
Runner check in - Greeting runners to ensure that they are there before the start of the race. (yes sometime runners pick up their package the night before and then do not run in the event)
Hyw crossing attendant - You will be making sure that the runners stop for the traffic.
Aid station 1 parking attendant - You will be located at aid station 1 in Edourdville. There is limited parking. You will pick up signs and supplies before heading out and then direct traffic to park on one side of the hill or possibly at the top and walk down to the aid station.
Merchandise sales - You will be helping with the merchandise shop. Handling money and e-transfers.
Gofers - You go for this and you go for that. Throughout the weekend we have different things that need to be delivered to the aid station at different times or picked up and brought to us. We will give you a general idea of when this is and where your pick up and delivery is.
Inventory coordinator - Ensure that the inventory of all the supplies has been done before it it loaded into the trailer
Trailer pack up - Bring your muscles. After the inventory is completed you will load up the trailer. (bonus if you can return it to its permanent parking location.)
Station clean up - You will be helping to put away the things that were used over the weekend, Kitchen clean up, tables and chairs, and sweeping the floors. Loading some supplies in vehicles as well.
Trail pick up - Any trails that were not able to be picked up by the last runner sweeper will need to be pick up ASAP after the event. We will contact you to let you know where these areas are.
Trail coordinators - Work together to ensure trail is well marked before the event. During the weekend are needed to be on hand to help with lost runners and flagging that may be missed placed (silly cows). Ensure trail markers are pick up after event.
RD Assistant - Works with Race Director all weekend to ensure what every is not done gets done
Time chip assistant - Works with the Chip Coordinator to ensure timing system is working, setting up and taking down timing systems from aid stations.
