Racers must:
Sign a waiver provided by IHU100 prior to commencing the race. You are not considered a participant without a signed waiver.
Follow the course as marked.
Only receive assistance from support crew, designated IHU volunteers at designated Transition Areas (TAs).
Only receive assistance on course from another IHU runner that is currently on the same leg of the course or an IHU designated Trail Volunteer.
Respect the course.
Not open any gates.
Carry the mandatory gear at all times:
Filled water bottle or hydration pack
Race number visible on the front of the body (assigned at registration)
Timing Chip (assigned at registration)
Race Ticket
Headlamp w/new batteries (after 5:00pm)
Toque or other head cover (after 5:00pm)
Be respectful of all IHU volunteers, other runners, crews and spectators.
Respect the decisions of IHU Medical staff, Search and Rescue Volunteers, Official Race Volunteers and, or Race Directors if they feel it is unsafe for the racer to proceed (e.g. natural hazards, hypothermia, dehydration, frostbite, debilitating injury) and need to remove a racer from the race course.
Have your ticket and timing chip on you at all times.
Show your ticket and get it punched by a volunteer at every transition area.
If you leave the course and will not finish then you must hand in your Ticket to an IHU volunteer at the nearest transition area or to a Trail volunteer. If it is impossible to get your ticket and timing chip to us, please phone the number on your ticket.
Racers are:
Not permitted to run on the pavement of the Highway during Highway sections of the course and you must stay in the ditch following the quad track.
Only to cross the highway and other roadways at designated marked locations when safe to do so. Watch for traffic as the highway is not closed.
Responsible for their own medical coverage and all costs incurred by any form of treatment or hospitalization or emergency services provided if they are injured during the race.
Not permitted to be accompanied by personal animals.
Permitted to change distances.
Solo Runners are permitted to have a Pacer only after completing leg 3 (Elk Point station)
Pacers:
Cannot mule or carry your gear or supplies (water, shoes, clothing, etc.)
Must register, wear a Pacer Bib on the course, and check in at their starting transition station.
Must be Human and on foot. (no bikes or ATVs)
Must follow all the rules and regulations of registered runners.
Must only wear their bib from their starting transition station to their finishing transition station.
Drop Bags
Are permitted at all aid stations
Must be dropped off at headquarters between 4:00pm and 8:00pm the Friday night before the race. (any bags dropped off after 8:00pm are not guaranteed to get to their designated transition station)
Each drop bag will be marked with the transition station it is going to bib number and runners first and last name.
Bags or bins should be weatherproof
Bags are not guaranteed to be returned to headquarters till 6am Sunday morning.
Are permitted to wear headphones but we highly suggest that if you drape the headphones over your shoulders so you can hear what is going on around you.
Leg Cut off times:
Must start Leg 4 (100 mile runners) Leg 7 (100km runners) from Elk Point Station by 5:30pm (10.5 Hours)
Must start Leg 7 from the Elk Point Station by 4:00am (21 Hours).
Must start Leg 8 from Happy Hill Station by 7:00am (24 Hours).
Finish cut off for 100 miles is 10:00am (27 hours).
Finish cut off for 100km is 3:00am (20 hours).
Cancelation/Bib Transfers
If a runner cancels prior to June 30 runners will receive 80% deferral for the following year, or 50% between July 1st and September 1st. Deferrals can only be given for the following registration.
Bib transfers between runners can not take place after registration deadline
If this event is canceled for any reason by the IHU organization, runners can choose to defer their registration to the following year's event or receive an 80% refund. Registered participants will be notified by email of the cancellation.
